Meet Dr. Thomas-Moses
Dr. Donna Thomas-Moses, a native of Walnut Grove, Mississippi, graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA in Psychology in 1986. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) from the University of Mississippi School Of Dentistry in 1990 and her Certificate in Periodontics in 1992 from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Thomas-Moses is an alumnus of the LD Pankey Institute where she has completed over ten years of course work in occlusion and TMD. She began her private practice in Periodontics in Carrollton, Georgia on October 8, 1992.
Dr. Thomas-Moses served the Georgia Dental Association as President 2007-08. She also served as GDA Chairman of Dental Health for two years, Chairman of Continuing Education and was a member of the GDA Board of Trustees for five years. She has actively served the American Dental Association as a Committee Member of CERP (the ADA’s Continuing Education Recognition Program), Governance Committee and as a Georgia Delegate to the ADA House of Delegates (2005 to present). She was the 2016 Reference Committee Chairman for the Committee on Dental Benefits, Practice and Related Matters and she will serve at the appointment of the 2016-17 ADA President on the ADA Strategic Planning Committee.
Dr. Thomas-Moses served as President of the Georgia Society of Periodontists, the Northwestern District Dental Society and the West Georgia Dental Study Club. She is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology (where she has spoken at their Leadership Conference), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Southern Academy of Periodontology, Georgia Academy of Dental Practice, Hinman Dental Society and the Mississippi Dental Association.
Dr. Thomas-Moses presently serves on the Board of the Georgia Department of Community Health and the Advisory Board of the Dental Hygiene School at West Georgia Technical College, where she is a visiting faculty member. She served on the Carrollton Housing Authority Board for 10 years and on the Board of Directors of Oak Mountain Academy.
An Honorable Fellow of the Georgia Dental Association, Dr. Thomas-Moses is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Thomas-Moses is a published author. She co-authored the book Ronald McDonald’s Camp Fun-To-Brush in 1989 for physically challenged children and was published in The American Journal of Maternal/Child Nursing, “Oral Health During Pregnancy”, 2002. She and her Practice were the featured cover article in the Women Dentist Journal in March 2006.
Dr. Thomas-Moses resides in Carrollton with her husband, Greg, where they are members of North Point Baptist Church. Donna is an active member of the Daughters of The American Revolution and volunteers as a mentor for students interested in the field of Dentistry at the State University of West Georgia and the University of Georgia. She enjoys life on her farm, horseback riding, boating, water skiing, and (especially) bush-hogging. Donna also has a love for music and plays the piano, organ, clarinet, oboe and saxophone.
